All of the Shaker inspired Furniture, Oval Boxes and Carriers that are supplied by ShakerDesign are hand made in Hampshire.

As far as possible, the original lines are followed and woods, similar to those used by the Shakers, are utilized wherever possible.

Crafted to last a lifetime and in keeping with the maxim:

"All beauty that has not a foundation in use, soon grows distasteful and needs continual replacement with something new"

Elegant in simplicity, functional and durable. Shaker is a timeless style for both traditional and contemporary settings.

Following construction all products are carefully hand sanded, then finished using oil and a light wax polish. As every item is hand made, each has an individual finish and no two are exactly identical.

Although our main interest is in the construction of Oval Boxes, many other pieces are available, ranging from simple Candle Boxes, to more complicated Occasional Tables, Trestle Dining Tables, Work and Serving tables, Blanket Chests and Chairs. Following the Shaker ideals that everything should be in place and be put away. Built-in-Cabinetry can also be designed to customer requirements.
